Lots of tests

Today has been a pretty good day for Carter. They took the suction off of his chest tube today, and will probably remove the chest tube in the morning!! He has only needed pain medicine once and I'm sure he will get it before he goes to bed. Tomorrow he will get a bone scan to make sure the cancer did not spread to his bones. (By the way I still hate that word). Its a good possibility we will get to go "home" after that. Then next Tuesday we have to come see the doctor and Carter will get injected with radioactive "stuff" and Wednesday he will have a scan to see where the radioactive "stuff" went. Finally, on Thursday Carter will have a MRI and a bone marrow test.

Mike and Evan will hopefully get to go to Bolivar on Saturday and Carter and I will stay with my grandma all next week. Evan desperately needs to go back home for some normalcy. He is doing really well, but I don't think he could handle another week. And Mike is ready to be back at home as well. (We all are but just 2 out of 4 will have to do for now)

Please pray that:

  • ALL of Carter's tests come back negative for the "C" word. Remember that if there is no cancer anywhere else that means no chemo. I would hate for my little guy to have to go through chemo.

  • Continued rest and peace.

  • Healing of Carter's incision (it looks pretty nasty)

  • No pain for my little man

  • We get to be released from the hospital tomorrow.

Again, we cannot express how much we appreciate all of your prayers and comments. Just because he is getting better doesn't mean we don't still need prayer.

I will pray for Carter and your family. I don't think I can think of anything as comforting. I have learned not to worry (as crazy as that sounds) just pray. Gods hands are just as capable in any situation. God bless you,

We are praying for Carter! I know that God has a great plan for Carter. I know that many times we look up to God and say......Hey! This was not in MY plan! But God will take all of our hurts and trials and use them to the benefit of Him. Carter just looks like he is ready for any battle that comes his way.

Gina and Mike,
We are thinking about you guys and lifting you up in prayer throughout the day...even at the end of the day. May your rest tonight, and Carter's, be sweet, as God holds you in His hands.

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

May tomorrow bring good news and more smiles from your baby boy.

We love you.

I've been keeping up with the blog (even though no one has been able to explain to me what "blog" is!) and am so excited to hear how things are going. My class prays for you every day... the teachers pray for you everyday... Harvey's cousin's church (in Overland Park, KS) has you on their prayer chain... as do many others that I've contacted. I know some amazing prayer warriors, and I know that's why you are feeling the peace. We are all lifting you up. And you know, "Where two or more are gathered and agree in prayer..." (Melba's Revised Version) We all look forward to normalcy returning to your family,as only God can bring!

Gina, it was so good to read that Carter has had a good day. We Bolivar prayer warriers can praise God that both he and Granton did well today! These precious boys have brought a community together in prayer like nothing I have ever seen before! I am sorry for you and Mike and for Daniel and Jenni, that you are having to watch your babies go through so much, but keep the faith, and know that God is in control! Still praying! Love, Cammie
